One can only aspire to be as cool a dad as Brendan Fallis - the jet-setting DJ, entrepreneur, content creator and one-half of downtown “It couple” alongside his wife Hannah Bronfman, an activist and entrepreneur. But like all of us, Fallis changes his kids’ poop explosions one diaper at a time - meaning that when the lights go up and the late-night set is done, he’s just a parent like the rest of us - trying to figure it all out and always in the market for the one thing that will make this whole gig just a bit easier and better.
As a guest on our recent Registry Real Talk panel, Fallis lays out his go-to registry guide, featuring his beloved Nanit (“It lets us capture the cutest moments.”) plus the items that help the in and out days spent parenting - whether at home or abroad. These one-and-done items streamline and simplify his everyday routines so that he can parent better and happier - whether that means getting a decent night’s sleep or just getting in and out his apartment building with ease.
In his own words, here are Fallis’s registry picks, below:
A Nanit Video Monitor
“With your first monitor, you're watching it like a hawk all the time. It’s like the best TV show you've ever watched, but also the scariest. When our son was born, we found ourselves, like, commando crawling into the room to make sure the monitor was working, because, like, you think your baby isn’t moving or whatever. As new parents, we were just figuring it all out. But our Nanit has been the best thing ever.
Now we have two kids and two Nanits and the split screen function is my dream. Our Nanit is also the best thing for traveling. It stores all the memories, so you can go back and watch and screen record, capture, download all these things. So if you're away and you miss something, your partner can tell you about it, but you can also go watch it yourself. Having Wi-Fi capability and wherever you are being able to see your kids, it’s amazing. Preston’s three and a half now and I still check it all the time. It's not just for babies.”
Say goodbye to sleepless nights with our advanced monitoring technology. Track your baby's breathing motion, sleep patterns, milestones, receive personalized insights, and view a crystal-clear video—all on your Nanit app. Built to last, Nanit Pro Baby Monitor is a must-have for parents seeking a smarter, safer way to care for their little ones. Welcome to the most awarded, connected baby monitor on the market.

An Easy-to-Maneuver Stroller
“New York is tough. You get in and out of taxis a lot. We have a narrow entrance into our apartment. The Doona is great for on-the-go, dropping its wheels down easily. It’s the most convenient thing for getting around the city.”
A Good Diaper Bin (and Skip the Fancy Extras)
“An acquaintance convinced me to get a bottle warmer and a wipe warmer and it just ended up feeling like an extra step. You’re already struggling so much to understand all the processes. I would get the best diaper bin you can get that has the least smell and is easiest to change versus a wipe warmer.
If you only knew the first time around that you wouldn't need half the stuff. The amount of gear we had the first time versus [when our second was born]... I'm happy we didn't ask for anything. And again, in New York space is hard to come by so less is less is actually more. It's hard to learn that until you go through it.
A CPR Class and Other Pre- or Post-Baby Skills Classes
“It was fantastic. You might think you know CPR, but it’s like an hour and it’s so refreshing. A bunch of my friends have had babies choke and just having that knowledge and a refresher course is phenomenal.”
Nanit Sound + Light
“Our sleep coach recommended using a green light that would come on at a time we would program and giving Preston some sort of incentive if he makes it to the green light. He would sit in bed for an hour like, ‘Green light, come on…’ But he would wait until 7 a.m. and then come out. Or sometimes if I'd see that he was awake and waiting, then on the Sound + Light through the phone I could change the green light to come on at 6:30 a.m. so he could get up sooner. So there's a lot of functionality with that.”
A Wireless Breast Pump
“In the beginning, we’re on the go a lot, and it really took the stress away from my wife. Instead of worrying about being close to somewhere [where you can plug in a pump], you kind of continue through your day which is nice.”
A Travel Crib
“The best thing that we got is the SlumberPod. It’s a tent that rolls up small, but then folds out and is a blackout tent. It has ventilation on the side and a slot for the Nanit in the top, a little plastic window for the camera to look down. If you're sharing a hotel room with your kid—which we are all the time—they have their own blackout zone. You don't have to be sitting there with your flashlight trying to read. You can have your lights on bright and it's completely blacked out inside the Pod. It’s incredible.
I like to remind myself that I’m not the first one to do all these things. When things get hard, you can know that someone's struggling through the exact same thing you are somewhere else. Everyone survived 100 years ago, 200 years ago with much less stuff, so do your best to power through and give yourself some grace.”
