2024 by the Numbers

From scientific advancements around infant sleep to arming new parents with the care solutions they need to thrive, we’re doing the math on some of our proudest accomplishments of the last year

Looking back over all that happened in 2024, one thing is crystal clear: We wouldn’t be where we are now without you, our amazing Nanit community!

Here are some of our favorite moments from the year, made possible in great part by you.

You slept well

Nanit babies' average sleep efficiency was 92%!! A win for them and a win for you (zzz). On average, children living in Connecticut got the most overall sleep per night (10.25 hours), closely followed by North Carolina (10.23) and Massachusetts (10.22).

You also logged a whopping 543,394 Care Log activities, helping you keep track of all the important daily details (and letting others pitch in with the responsibilities, too).

You showed us the love

You shared your Nanit captured moments on social, and helped us go viral 6 times! Join us on Instagram or TikTok so you don’t miss out on these special community moments.

Check out the videos you loved the most:

We continued to win awards for best baby monitor (33 and counting!)

And you gave Nanit over 6,700 5-star reviews (thank you!).

Together, we made a difference

We donated 17,500 Sleep Wear items with your partnership, helping to support amazing nonprofits like Saving Mothers (who provide pregnancy and postpartum health care to mothers in low-resource areas) and Baby2Baby (who ensure children living in poverty and victims of natural disasters have essentials like clothing and diapers).

You showed up to support each other

The Nanit Community came together for over 30 virtual events with thousands of participants to educate and support parents everywhere.

From our Registry Real Talks and Parent Like a Pro Summit panels to a variety of other data-driven, resource-rich talks, we gathered together amazing tastemakers, top experts and real parents to provide you with the advice and company you need. Some of our pros included music star Meghan Trainor, influencers Colton Underwood, Lucie Fink, and Brendan Fallis, and renowned experts and scientists from around the world.

You helped us advance science

Our Nanit Lab team was busy advancing research on baby sleep, parents' mental health, child development, and more.

Thanks to your input and data contributions, we learned that:

  • Sharing the load makes a difference! When partners help with nighttime caregiving, moms got an extra 40 minutes of sleep on average per night (an extra 4.7 hours per week). This extra sleep was linked to lower rates of postpartum depression.
  • Babies do best with consistent bedtimes. Nanit Lab studies found that for babies in the 4 to 11 month age range, when their bedtime varied by more than 45 minutes, they slept an average of 30 minutes less per night.
  • Yes, your baby’s wake-ups are affecting your sex life. The biggest aspect that negatively impacts how often parents had sex? Nope, not how long the baby sleeps. Not even how often the baby wakes up. It’s all those nighttime crib visits!

To help you build those consistent sleep routines, the Sleep Schedule Generator came back by popular demand, with 12,825 custom schedules created already!

You learned and grew

Speaking of tiny wins, you shared with us that 2024 was the year your kids

  • Slept through the night on vacation
  • Succeeded at bottle feeding
  • Climbed stairs
  • Pulled up to standing
  • Said their first words
  • Got a first haircut
  • Smiled for the first time
  • Started day care
  • Locked in on a regular bedtime routine
  • Self-soothed and fell asleep without intervention
  • Started baby-led weaning
  • Sang Baby Beluga

Bravo! (And we’re honored to have captured many of those magical moments.)

Thanks for all the fun, all the excellent company, and all the memories. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store.

And whatever it is, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
